Airport transfers from Basingstoke

Basingstoke sits close to the M3, which makes it one of the easier Hampshire towns to run airport transfers from. Heathrow is the natural choice for most passengers here, but Southampton Airport is often quicker than people expect, and Gatwick is a straightforward run once you are past the M25 junction. Every fare below is quoted and fixed before you book.

Heathrow

39miles
47 mintypical drive

On a clear run, up the M3 and round the M25. The most common Basingstoke airport journey by some distance.

Southampton Airport

32miles
37 mintypical drive

Straight down the M3. Often the fastest airport journey from Basingstoke, and worth checking if your route offers a Southampton departure.

Gatwick

62miles
1h 12mtypical drive

Via the M3 and M25 anticlockwise. Allow extra either side of the morning and evening peaks.

Bournemouth Airport

57miles
1h 5mtypical drive

On the M3 and A31.

Luton

70miles
1h 24mtypical drive

Joining the M25 then the M1.

Bristol Airport

91miles
2htypical drive

Via the A303 and M5.

Stansted

99miles
2htypical drive

Taking the M25 clockwise.

Birmingham Airport

109miles
2h 13mtypical drive

On the M3, M25 and M40.

Journey times are typical off-peak drive times, not promises. For an early flight we build in a sensible margin and agree the pickup time with you rather than cutting it fine.

Roads in and out of the town

Basingstoke is served by junctions 6 and 7 of the M3, with the A33 running north towards Reading, the A339 west to Newbury and east towards Alton, and the A30 crossing the town. Junction 6 is the usual choice for the town centre and Basing View; junction 7 suits Chineham and the north east of the town. It matters mainly for timing: the ring road slows noticeably around the school run and again from about four in the afternoon, so for a morning flight we will normally suggest leaving before the worst of it rather than sitting in it.

What is included in the fare

The price you are quoted is the price you pay. Tolls, the Congestion Charge, the Dartford Crossing, Clean Air Zone charges and airport drop-off or pickup charges are all built into the fare before you book. There is nothing extra to settle with the driver at the end of the journey.

Fixed fare, agreed first

You see the full price before you confirm, not an estimate that moves.

Flight tracking

On arrivals we follow the flight, so an early or delayed landing does not leave you stranded or charged for waiting.

Licensed and insured

A licensed private hire operator, with licensed drivers and vehicles.

Around the clock

Booking and phone lines run 24 hours, which matters for the pre-dawn Heathrow runs that make up much of the Basingstoke work.
